BOTTLEJOB

The band began life under a different name. Originally called Wastelanders, the band was formed by two mates, bassist Egoitz and drumer boy Jaume. This was back in 1998 and after a few experiments with different line ups (including Lee from Deadline) it settled down into the the four trouble-makers who made this recording.
With Phil on vocals, who had previously played for Scurvy and Intensive Care, and guitar taken on by the evil genius Xabi. The band played its first few gigs in the london squat scene late 1999 and changed its name shortly after finding out Wastelanders was a name being used by some techno pop outfit. Being hard-drinking street tough gentlemen it was decided a change in moniker was necessary.
'Bottlejob' - london slang, sounding like a bottle in the face, it refers to a coward or what the Cockney Rejects would call a 'shitter'. Stand together and never run.
The band is an unlikely mix of london, basque and catalan. Let's just say the boys know how to enjoy themselves. Still mostly playing around London with a few forays around the country there have also been gigs in France and Basque country. Played with the likes of Argy Bargy, Deadline, Vice Squad, and more, the best is still yet to come from this band.

La banda empezó su vida bajo un nombre diferente. Originariamente se llamó Wastelanders, la banda estaba formada por dos colegas, el bajista Egoitz y Jaume como batería. Esto fue en 1998 después de varios experimentos con diferentes agrupaciones (incluyendo a Lee de Deadline), terminando con los 4 gamberros que grabaron lo que tenéis aquí.
Con Phil como vocalista, que tocó anteriormente para Scurvy e Intensive Care, y con el genio malvado de Xabi a la guitarra. La banda tocó sus primeros conciertos en el movimiento okupa londinense a finales de 1999 y cambió pronto su nombre después de darse cuenta que Wastelanders era un nombre usado por un grupo de tecno. Siendo como son caballeros endurecidos a base de beber en las calles se decidió que un cambio en (minoker??) era necesario.
´Bottlejob ´- en argot de Londres , que suena como un botellazo en la cara, se refiere a un cobarde, o como Cockney Rejects dirían, un cagón. Estemos unidos y no corramos.
La banda es una mezcla de Londres, Euskadi y Catalunya. Digamos simplemente que los chavales saben como divertirse. Mayormente tocando en Londres con algunas escapadas alrededor del país, también han habido conciertos en Francia y Euskadi. Habiendo tocado con Argy Bargy, Deadline, Vice Squad y más. lo mejor está todavía por venir!!.
